Seti Ist  temple

Nile riverside at El-Gezira

7th day  (West bank)

- the temple of Seti Ist in Qurna is the most northern temple of million of years in west Luxor. Few visitors come to it although it is as interesting as the others and even more for those who intend to visit Seti Ist 's temple in Abydos whose architecture is quite similar. As most constructions of Seti Ist, it was completed by his son, Ramesses II; it has beautiful elegant reliefs, that will not be found again in his successors' construction, especially his son's. Also, in this temple is the most well preserved hypostyle hall in West bank.

Should you have some time left, despite this huge programme, you can visit some more tombs of the Nobles :
¤  in the Sheikh Abd el-Qurna sector, tombs of Khunsu n°31, Userhat n°51 and Benia n°343 ;
¤ in the El-Khokha sector, tombs of Neferrenpet n° 178, Nefersekherou n° 295 and Duthmosis n° 296 ;
¤  in the El-Assasif sector, tombs of Kheruef** n° 192 and Pabasa n° 279 ;
¤  in the Dra Abu el-Naga sector, tombs of Roy** n° 255 and Shuroy n° 256.

You can also walk to the Coptic Monastery, close to Medinet Habu, by a lane along the desert edge (see map).

Finally, you can have a balloon ride (see list of useful contacts) or a walk along the Nile riverside.
