Generally,
restaurants are open all day and late at night: in
Egypt,
you can eat any time, day and
night.
As
already mentioned in Safety, under "food
hazards", the following address was first selected for
its strict application of hygiene rules, but also for
its pleasant settings and its
rates.
Hâpy Habou Restaurant at
Medinet Habou

At
the end of the street passing along the
temple, (on the left, 50 meters from the entrance), this
is a new restaurant proposing both Egyptian food
(among which traditional dishes such as stuffed pigeon
or duck made to order) and European food (pizzas,
tarts, pancakes, spaghetti, fruit salads,..) and a
choice of sandwiches, home made pastries and fresh fruit
juices, for a pleasant pause or for tea time, at more
than reasonable rates.
An
exceptionally clean place, though Egyptian, this
restaurant has a number of toilets, a spacious and
nicely fitted room most appreciated in case of strong
wind. Last but not least, the setting is more than
beautiful, with a terrace surrounded by a gorgeous
flower garden and a view over the Medinet Habou temple
particularly romantic at night when the temple is
illuminated.
